I love holiday shopping! Buying presents feels festive and generous, and I love pouring over holiday gift guides getting good ideas to buy for the hardest to shop for people in my life.
Below are the fun objets de joie that I’m recommending for Holidayzzz 2016.
This Microplane Zester is a perfect stocking stuffer and memorable hostess gift. Trust me, a hostess does NOT wanna receive yet another boring $12 bottle of wine. A hostess DOES wanna receive this versatile $12 zester that she will have forever and use almost every day.
Before we go any further. I’m gonna tell you what. Right now. The Vitamix blender is the last blender you’ll ever buy. I’ve used mine three times today–once to make my Bulletproof Coffee, once to make the smoothest smoothie you’ll ever drink, and once to puree tomatoes to go into my Pittsburgh Turkey Chili. I can’t say enough good things about this contraption. Yes, there’s a large start up cost, but I’ve heard you can get a less expensive version at Target.
Let’s cut a bitch, shall we? And by a “bitch,” I mean “all the vegetables.” I’ve had this mandolin for years, and it’s super sharp, so be careful (and definitely don’t use it while drinking alcohol). Employ this puppy to cut zucchini disks, to scallop potatoes, dice onions, anything you need to give a perfectly even, uniform cut so that cooking prep is easier.
I also need to put something on my Christmas list, and of course it’s the Instant Pot! A lot of you have been telling me about it, and believe me when I say, you had me at “bone broth in 3-4 hours.” Question is, which size to get?
I am the ultimate Tim Ferriss superfan (which might sound odd considering 85% of his audience is men), and I love his new book Tools of Titans. I’ve always been a biohacker and productivity tweaker at heart, and I love his podcast and all the advice he mines from his guests. Being a stand up comic, the Jamie Foxx interview is the BEST ONE, Y’ALL. The Jamie can do no wrong, so don’t even start with me. Tools of Titans distills actionable info from his guests, and you will be inspired and want to mark up every page and try some new shit.
Speaking of bizarre advice I never thought I’d take from a man I listen to on the internet (talking ’bout you, T-Ferr), I’m experimenting with exogenous ketones in my “Dairy-Free Ketosis till February” biohacking experiment. Big shout out to Gabriela Clent and her site. Gabriela is a longtime Fitness Confidential podcast listener, and she’s been guiding me on my adventures in exogenous ketones. I love this community we’ve built!
Lastly, I always want pretty and original jewelry at Christmas, and my latest obsession is Hozoni Designs and this Champagne Gold Circle Ring with Diamonds. Hozoni pieces are so unique and beautiful, and I know the designers, so I know the heart and soul that they pour into each piece. But seriously, these engagement rings make me wanna get the hubs to propose all over again. That’s how it works, right? Men love being barked at to propose…so I’ve heard.
I hope you all have a Holly Jolly Happy Merry!
