READER QUESTION: Anna, I want nutritional info!

I’m going to answer questions I repeatedly receive from readers right here on the blog so that the answers can live on in Google perpetuity, and hopefully these posts can become a reference for folks to use when they are seeking the deets. I get the following question often, and usually it’s not worded as kindly as it is from Jay. Here we go…buckle up as paradigms are about to get challenged…

Today’s question comes from Jay:

Bought Eat Happy, great recipes but I cannot find any nutritional info in the book. I downloaded from Apple and looked in the glossary, but do not see anything. Would like to know what I am eating. Thanks.

Hi Jay-

Thank you so much for reaching out at my site. Thanks for your purchase of the book, that support means the world to me.

If you read the intro pages of Eat Happy and Eat Happy Too, you’ll see the section titled Why Cut The Sugars And The Grains (No Sugars No Grains). NSNG by Vinnie Tortorich is a way of eating that doesn’t count calories or macros. So to answer your question, you are eating real food when you cook recipes from Eat Happy.

If you are not familiar with NSNG, please head over to Vinnie’s page and download his free and very informative PDF explaining NSNG and why it breaks the diet mentality of counting once and for all.

I’ve posted the intro pages here, plus you can view them on the Look Inside feature on Amazon.

And if you really don’t like my answer and absolutely must have the nutritional info, that’s okay too. Readers have told me that all the recipes are in My Fitness Pal, or you can copy and paste the ingredient list into Google or Whisk and get the info that way.

Thanks again for your support, and I hope you and yours are staying safe in these crazy times!

Bestest-

Anna

  • The beauty of NSNG is that it is a lifestyle not a DIET. Having done WW and other “diet” programs that felt restrictive and were tedious to track, I’m so happy I found Vinnie and his NSNG lifestyle. The NSNG way of eating is easy to follow and sustainable long term, it didn’t take long before I started losing weight and generally started feeling better. I still have a ways to go to reach my goal weight but seeing how my body is responding to NSNG gives me tremendous motivation. Thank you Vinnie and thank you Anna for the great recipes!

    • Ann, reading your kind words is a balm to my soul. I’m so glad you are feeling so great, and yes, you are correct that the weight will continue to drop off as your body heals and you dial in what works for you. It’s because of folks like you that we keep going in putting our work out there, so I appreciate you taking the time to write this more than you will ever know!

I’m not a coffee drinker, the occasional tea. What other drinks can we have on NSNG?
I’m waiting for your book to arrive so I can get going properly.
    Thank you

    • Coffee, tea, and water are the best to focus on. I love making a homemade sparkling water plain or sometimes I’ll squeeze a wedge of lemon or lime. The second book has alcoholic cocktail ideas that could all be made as cocktails, so check out the ideas in there (it’s the last chapter of Eat Happy Too).
