Pulse canned tomatoes in food processor or Vitamix to make smooth. In saucepan on medium high heat, sautee garlic and basil in olive oil until soft, about 3 minutes. Add pureed tomatoes and tomato paste, stirring until blended. Lower heat and simmer for 10 minutes. Stir in pat of butter and salt & pepper for seasoning. Cook additional 5 minutes. Season again to taste and then use on your pizza.
