The Ultimate Homemade Pizza Sauce

With sugar in practically all the store-bought sauces, and this recipe so easy to make, why not make a homemade sauce.  This is a variation on my marinara sauce I’ve been making for years.  Put it on your Ultimate Low Carb Crust or Ultimate Cauliflower Crust!

The Ultimate Homemade Pizza Sauce

Course Main Dishes, Sauces/Dressings/Marinades
Cuisine Keto, Low Carb, NSNG

  • 1 14-ounce can of chopped tomatoes (check for no sugar on the label!)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 garlic clove, minced (or 1/2 teaspoon minced garlic)
  • 5 basil leaves, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 1 teaspoon butter
  • Salt and pepper

  • Pulse canned tomatoes in food processor or Vitamix to make smooth. In saucepan on medium high heat, sautee garlic and basil in olive oil until soft, about 3 minutes. Add pureed tomatoes and tomato paste, stirring until blended. Lower heat and simmer for 10 minutes. Stir in pat of butter and salt & pepper for seasoning. Cook additional 5 minutes. Season again to taste and then use on your pizza.
